Some still frames from one of the flash sequences in "Brendan and the Secret of Kells".
I animated those scenes with Alfredo a few months ago, just after we finished working on our endless 2d-traditional sequence :)
It was a lot of fun, especially playing with the shapes of the vikings, which were made of ink so basically all frame by frame animation.
Just brush strokes for the crows in the background as well, while the scared monks are made with symbols.

alina, thank you for stopping by!
Really bold and powerful images. Love to see them animated and how they work with the music and effects. Anyway, good job and see you in LA.
Armand, thank you so much.
I can't wait to see the final result as well, the bgs and the fire you see in the images are temporary, I roughly put them there to give an idea of what will be the result at the end. ;)
The bg department is making an amazing job and the final music should be very effective and fit the timing we used in the animation.
Hope to see you in Los Angeles then, I don't know if Marcos already told you about my passport troubles.... :°°°°(

Hi Alessandra! How are you? To be honest, I still didn't get to making the pesto recipe, and to be honest I'm not sure if I still remember it completely. Could you mail it to me, cause it sounded delicious! What are you up to nowadays? Say hi to Alfredo for me, ok?
